The GAEF is NOT the National
Fraternity’s scholarship program, but our
very own! Over the past two years, the
GAEF has awarded $16,000 in grants to our
undergraduate brothers, while establishing
a wholly local capital account for future
schoarship support that is second to none
in the Kappa Sigma nation
The Gamma-Alpha of Kappa Sigma Educational Foundation
is now officially established, following confirmation
from the IRS granting 501(c)(3) status in April 2016. Our Educational
Foundation is Gamma-Alpha’s alone, and is domiciled
separately from our National scholarship program. We understand
that our new Foundation is one-of-a-kind within Kappa Sigma.
As mentioned in the July 2014 newsletter, your alumni
Building Corporation Board held two update meetings in May
2014 to discuss the success of the Gamma-Alpha Chapter
and associated developments. The meetings were held at the
Eugene Hilton and the Portland Multnomah Athletic Club.
Two invitations for each were mailed, as well as e-mail notices
where possible.
